CIIN Endorses Insurance Meets Tech Conference

Insurance Meets Tech (IMT), a platform driving innovation at the intersection of insurance and technology, has announced the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), as its Official Institutional Partner for the highly anticipated IMT 4.0 Conference, holding on September 18 in Lagos.
Insurance Meets Tech is designed to bridge the gap between traditional insurance structures and emerging digital-first models, bringing together regulators, insurers, brokers, and creators in a multi-stakeholder conversation aimed at shaping the future of insurance in Africa.
The President of the CIIN, Mrs. Yetunde Ilori, expressed the institute’s belief in the work of IMT, saying “Insurance Meets Tech has consistently shown that innovation and relevance go hand in hand. Our mission of promoting insurance education, professional excellence, and ethical standards aligns with IMT’s vision of fostering a tech-driven insurance discourse as a viable platform for a collaborative drive towards groundswell insurance penetration, especially among younger, tech-savvy Nigerians.
“As the Official Institutional Partner for the 2025 edition of Insurance Meets Tech, we are reinforcing our commitment to collaboration, knowledge sharing, and driving the innovation that will shape the next chapter of Nigeria’s insurance story,” she added.
The CIIN endorsement follows public commendation of IMT by both the Commissioner for Insurance, Mr. Olusegun Omosehin, and the CIIN President, at the just concluded Year 2025 edition of the CIIN Insurance Week. Both leaders commended IMT’s growing impact in deepening digital adoption and trust in the industry.
Odion Aleobua, Convener of IMT and CEO of Modion Communications, commented on the significance of the partnership, stating, “The endorsement of IMT 4.0 by the CIIN as its first Official Institutional Partner is a powerful milestone and a clear mandate. This alliance represents a new era of intentional collaboration among regulators, professionals, and innovators to reshape how Nigerians engage with insurance.”
He added, “We are grateful for the leadership of Mrs. Ilori and the CIIN Council for believing in this vision. Together, we are demonstrating that inclusion, innovation, and institutional credibility can coexist and help shape a truly Nigerian insurance future.”
The 2025 edition of IMT is expected to attract stakeholders from the insurance, tech, creative, and financial sectors, featuring a headline speaker from South Africa, Per Lagerström, a tech and finance guru and tech innovator, with support from leading organisations, Leadway and CubeCover, already confirmed as Gold sponsors.
