The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has unveiled a licensing portal for the registration and renewal of the licences of insurance agents in Nigeria.
NAICOM has subsequently informed all registered agents and insurance companies to start making use of the new licensing portal: https://agent.naicom.gov.ng from August 1, 2024.
The Commission explained that the new portal is intended to ease, fast track and streamline licensing of insurance agents, as well as to reduce manual intervention in the issuance of agency licensing process.
Going forward, all applications for registration and renewal of agency licence are to be submitted using the new Portal.
NAICOM also advised that all pending applications that have not been registered on the old portal should be resubmitted through the new licensing agents portal.
All registered agents and insurance companies have been urged to take note of this new development and be guided accordingly.
