In a bid to prevent the spread of the coronavirus ravaging the whole world, the African Insurance Organisation (AIO) has adopted series of measures to protect the AIO Secretariat staff and its members.
These measures include the postponement of the 4th Conference and Annual General Assembly of the AIO by the Executive Committee of the AIO, Jean Baptiste Ntukamazina, Secretary General said. Earlier scheduled to hold in Lagos, Nigeria from May 31 to June 3, the Conference has been rescheduled for October 3 to 7, 2020.
The association has also suspended temporarily, all meetings and other activities of the AIO that require the gathering of people.
Besides, he said hand sanitizers have been installed at the AIO Secretariat as a protective measure for the staff and visitors.
He added that the Secretariat staff have equally been sensitised on preventive measures both in and out of the office as prescribed by the Government of Cameroon and the World Health Organisation.
During this period, he said online business is being encouraged to prevent the spread spread of the deadly disease.
On behalf of the President and Executive Committee, the Secretary General of the African Insurance Organisation, stated that he has continued to send message of support and solidarity to all members and partners affected in one way or another by the coronavirus pandemic and encourages them to strictly adhere to the preventive measures prescribed by their respective Governments and the World Health Organisation.
